
OUR RICE


La Balocchina is a historic estate located in Mottalciata in the middle of the Baraggia, an area where rice has been grown since 1400.
In 1930, the estate began producing rice, now in its third generation. It was only in 2021 that Balocchina decided to enter the international market and export the quality of 100% Italian rice, grown in Piedmont, all over the world. Balocchina works every day to become the point of reference for the Italian rice and its derivatives sector, with a strong focus on quality and sustainability.
Balocchina has invested in the research and production of a series of Eco-friendly packaging, with modern and designer lines, which reduce waste and can be reused infinitely.


Acquerello was born in 1991, in the heart of the province of Vercelli in Piedmont where the culture of rice dates back to 1400, from Piero Rondolino's idea to create a rice that would stand out from the others for its superior quality.
Acquerello is the first aged rice in Italy, the only one reintegrated with its bud that makes it a white rice with the most important nutritional properties of wholemeal. Today it is sold in 68 countries around the world and is produced only at Tenuta Colombara di Livorno Ferraris following a short supply chain process, from the cultivation of the fields to customer care.
Piero Rondolino's love for Acquerello pushed him to build the entire supply chain at Tenuta Colombara, from the field to the customer, so as to be able to carefully take care of each phase.
